This painting was created during my residency at Sou'wester in Long Beach, WA where I spent a week alone with my dog Lily. We spent our dogs walking on the beach (and for Lily chasing balls), reading and painting. I started 32 paintings during this time. This is one of them. For Lily, I am sure the week is imprinted in her mind as the smell of sand, the feel of the wind in her ears, and the memory of chasing a bright orange ball.
