A Guide

I find that commissioned art is one of my greatest joys. It is truly one of the most personal interactions I can have with a fan of my work.  I encourage you, if you so desire, to reach out to me if you like my style but feel you need something a little more unique or specific. 

The process starts with a small form I have developed that I can email you before we have our first conversation, either by telephone, in person if you are in Portland, OR or by email.  This form allows me to get a better grasp as to what intrigues you about my work, what meaning you are looking for in this custom work, and some details as to what space the painting will be going in.

At this point I will provide a bid with cost and a timeline. If you do chose to accept, and I hope you do, I require 50% upfront and 50% upon completion.  I am a process driven artist and will provide a minimum of three work in  progress shots.  However I have been known to include time lapse videos and other in progress documentation as well.

Some things to note

I do not reproduce another artists work or concept.

This is a collaboration. My process is intuitive and spur of the moment.  I try my best to use my skills to bring forth your vision.

I am an outside of the box thinker. I love the process of problem solving that often comes with art. I love unique supplies or surfaces so please do not hesitate to contact me with unique ideas.  What we collaborate and create may surprise us both.

Surface notes. I love paper. However I also really enjoy wood panel, and can make just about any size rectangle or square to fit your specialized space.  Canvas is an option as well depending on the project.

I can work with you on the framing but this will require an additional cost.

Pricing and payment plans are flexible. However I am a working artist and this is how I make a living.
